  • 7.3 Power Stroke Repair

7.3 Power Stroke RepairThe 7.3 Power Stroke is near-legendary for it durability and power. It requires proper maintenance and service at regular intervals, as all engines do. After tens of thousands of miles and years of service, the 7.3 Power Stroke may require glow plug repair and replacement, diesel fuel injector repair and replacement, and other repairs. If you're experiencing rough cold-starts or no-starts, take it in for proper diagnostics. There are some common causes of no-starts and rough starts on 7.3 Power Stroke, but properly diagnosing the problem and repairing it accordingly will generally result in the truck getting back on the road and working much soon. Down time cost you money, so guessing is not worth much. Some typical issues can be bad IPR valve, which can stick, sensors can go bad or even the wires can be disconnected, damaged or cut. IDM can bad causing no start, rough running and shut off during acceleration. 7.3 Power Stroke Repair...

  • 6.0 Power Stroke Repair

6.0 Power Stroke RepairThe 6.0L Power Stroke replaced the reliable, proven 7.3L in the 2004 model year (the 7.3L and 6.0L were both offered for the 2003 MY). A new engine design was necessary to meet stricter emissions regulations while maintaining Ford and International's competitive edge in the market. At the time of its introduction, the engine was revolutionary; quicker turbo response, highly advanced, and more powerful than its the 7.3 turbo Power Stroke it replaced. The 6.0 Power Stroke produced 500 lb-ft. At 325 hp and 560 lb-ft, the clear industry leader. Unfortunately, the 6.0 turbo Power Stroke engine was recalled numerous times to fulfill technical service bulletins. The 6.0L and its problems seems to be hit and miss. Most trucks currently on the road have received the proper repairs and/or updated parts, and aren't as prone to failure. It seems the 6.0L Power Stroke's problems are in reliability, not longevity as the engine has been on the road for millions of miles and has proven that with proper repairs it can go for hundreds of thousands of miles. Some common problems with the 6.0 Power Stroke are the head bolts failing, EGR and EGR cooler failure, Oil cooler failure, Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) Failure, Injection Control Pressure (ICP) Sensor failure, Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) Sensor failure, Hydraulically Actuated Electronically Controlled Unit Injector (HEUI) failure, High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) failure, Turbocharger Lag, Sticking VGT Vanes, Turbocharger Failure, Wire Harness Fraying and Damage, Oil Rail and Plug Leaking, and Coolant leakage. • 6.4 Power Stroke Repair

The 6.4L Power Stroke replaced the 6.0L in the 2009 model year. This new design has experience fewer issues and problems than the 6.0 Power Stroke. Common problems with the 6.4 Power Stroke are similar to previous Power Stroke engines, but on a far smaller scale. The fuel efficiency is a lot worse. Some may have issues with the head bolts failing, EGR and EGR cooler failure, Oil cooler failure, Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) Failure, Injection Control Pressure (ICP) Sensor failure, Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) Sensor failure, Hydraulically Actuated Electronically Controlled Unit Injector (HEUI) failure, High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) failure, Turbocharger Lag, Sticking VGT Vanes, Turbocharger Failure, Wire Harness Fraying and Damage, Oil Rail and Plug Leaking, and Coolant leakage. Recommended Truck Collision Repair Shop

Truck collision repairs are very different than what most body shops can do. A typical auto body shop can fix or repair a dent, but the design of cars is so much different than trucks. We recommend Motor City Truck Collision to our customers when their commercial truck is damaged in a collision.
